This footage is a compilation of two days along the Delaware-Lackawanna Railroad. First on May 11th, we discovered by dumb luck that one DL's ALCO locomotives, C425 #2457, was wearing a Nathan M5 air horn, a very uncommon horn to hear in regular service. So we followed the train to Myrtle Street just outside of Scranton to watch the 2457 and 4 other ALCO products grab a set of grain cars to run them further east to a different storage siding. Listen at these awesome locomotives lift the heavy train out of the siding near Nay Aug tunnel.
The next day, the 2457 was slated to lead the PO-74 job east to Mount Pocono, so the chase was on. We first catch the train coming by the station at Moscow, PA. We then manage to get ahead of the train to the Lehigh Rd grade crossing west of Gouldsboro. The train stopped to do some switching in Tobyhanna, allowing us to get over to the former Delaware Lackawanna & Western's "Millpond" where ice was harvested to be used in refrigerator cars. We watch the train slowly makes its was long the fill by the pond, as there is some ongoing track work in the area. Finally we watch them set off the grain cars in Mount Pocono before ending our chase.
