In this video, I’m putting the latest DJI Osmo Action 5 Pro to the test against its predecessor, the DJI Osmo Action 4, right here on my favorite forest trail in Norway. With a dense fog hanging in the air, it’s the perfect setup to evaluate these cameras in challenging lighting conditions and see how they capture the moody atmosphere of a misty Norwegian landscape.
I've filmed in both Normal Profile and D-Log M on each camera, using identical settings across the board, so any differences you see will come directly from the cameras' capabilities. My goal here is to see if the DJI Osmo Action 5 Pro truly stands out as an upgrade, or if these two models still feel neck-and-neck in terms of performance. Pay attention to details like dynamic range, color accuracy, sharpness, and how well each camera handles the subtle tonal shifts in the fog.
With D-Log M footage, you’ll see how both cameras retain detail and offer flexibility for color grading, while the Normal Profile shows the colors straight out of the camera. Foggy conditions tend to wash out colors and reduce contrast, so this is a great test for how each camera handles exposure and color rendering in low-contrast scenes.
