I tested the DJI Avata 360 Return To Home (RTH) feature, and the results were NOT what I expected. Instead of taking the shortest path, the drone started reversing my entire flight path, leading to a near-disaster in the first test.
In this video, I perform 3 RTH tests to see if it’s a glitch or intended behavior.
Test 1: The "Epic Fail" where I had to take over.
Test 2 & 3: How "Optimal RTH" handles complex environments.
Is the DJI Avata 360 safe to fly in RTH mode, or is the software still too "dumb" compared to other DJI drones? Let's find out.
TIMESTAMPS:
0:00 The Strange RTH Behavior
0:38 Test 1: It almost hit the car!
3:11 Analyzing Optimal RTH Settings
5:15 Test 3: Can it hit the landing pad?
6:55 WARNING: Protect your lenses!
