Books and Looks | DIY-How to Make an Iron Throne *for cheap* | Game of Thrones Week | Books and Looks @BooksandLooks | Uploaded July 2017 | Updated October 2024, 4 minutes ago.
A walkthrough on how we built our own Game of Thrones inspired Iron Throne on a budget. We spent a total of $55 and worked on it over the weekends for about a month.
What you'll need:
*Andalondeck chair
*About 10-15 rulers
*2-4 sheets of 1/2 thick purple insulation foam
*Sand paper (A sander makes things a whole lot easier too)
*Cardboard (we went behind a restaurant and grabbed a handful of boxes)
*At least 2 large packs of the legal size 1/8" craft foam (longer than the standard page size craft foam)
*Small screws, liquid nails, tape (we also recommend E600)
*Latex primer
*Black primer paint (MOD PODGE WOULD WORK too. This is to coat insulation foam before you paint)
*Hammered steel silver paint
*Gold & black paint or any other color you woukd like to use to add touches to the hilts.
OPTIONAL:
*clamps (to help hols foam together while it dries)
*Long thin metal pieces for added support and bulk
