For wetplate photography, the plate will have to be developed while it is still wet. Therefore a photographer would need to have a darkbox nearby.
There are multiple designs that you can find online but I am sharing one that is more like a suitcase design. I found a reference to this design here earlyphotography.co.uk/site/entry_H7.html and based my design from it.
The external dimensions is 29x22x5.5 inches, suitable for developing 4x5 or 5x7 plates. While it is possible to develop 8x10 plates, you may find you need a bit more room. I built it with plywood and hardwood that I can find at my local timber store in Singapore but I believe you have more choices at wherever you are.
