Final lapping of the surface plate to just get to the AAA tolerance. I show aluminum foil lapping and grooving and scraping in the lap used for final finishing. Measuring surface finish of Starrett AAA granite plate to determine the surface finish they thought appropriate. Lastly showing the construction of the lap I think will be ideal for future refinement of the plate to even tighter tolerances. 106 micro inch = 2.692 micron
