In this project, I used a whiskey-style barrel from Lowe’s and an inexpensive solar fountain from Amazon to build a backyard feature that not only looks great, but also helps support pollinators.
Bees actually aren’t great swimmers and can drown easily in open water. To fix that, I made a solid wood lid with a hole in the center so the fountain splashes onto the wood instead. This gives bees a safe place to land and drink without the risk of drowning.
It’s a quick, fun project and a great addition to any garden or backyard.
