I recently made some boot shapers to stop my new knee high boots from flopping over. This is a great way to use our skills and save money on pre-made shapers, using fabric scraps. These boot shapers would also make a great gift!

Instructions
Step 1: take your measurements- from the outside of the boot, measure the circumference of the ankle and height of the boot from above the sole.
Step 2: cut 2 rectangles of fabric using the ankle measurement as the width and the hight of your boot +5" as the length. cut an 8" piece of ribbon if using
Step 3: fold your fabric, right sides together, along the long edge. tuck your ribbon, folded in half, between the layers of fabric on one of the short edges, matching raw edges.
Step 4: sew around the perimeter using 1/2" seam allowance, leaving a 4" gap along the long edge, backstitching at either side of the gap. optional: re-inforce the ribbon attachment by sewing 1/4" inside seam allowance.
Step 5: create your box corners: pull the flat fabric in the opposite direction on your corner, creating a triangle with your seam going from tip to bottom. press and mark a line 1" down from the tip of your corner. repeat for other 3 corners.
step 6: sew along the line, backstitching at beginning and end. optional: trim corners down to 1/4".
step 7: turn fabric right side through your gap and poke your corners out.
step 8: repeat steps 3-7 for other boot shaper.
step 9: fill your shapers with the stuffing if your choice (cedar wood chips, poly stuffing, fabric scraps, etc.).
step 10: close up gap with stipstitch for both boots, and you're done!
