This RF Probe is extremely easy to make at home, it only takes few components you may easily buy at the local electronics shop, on internet or find readily in your junk-box. This Ham Radio measuring device has quickly become my very favorite piece of shack-lab equipment, I take it along with me to the outdoors activities when there is a need to quickly test if any RF in the antenna, or most importantly, is there any CMC (Common Mode Current) on your portable antenna. Please check other antenna/outdoors videos on this channel if you would like to see this device in more action!
I claim no originality for this schematic design. Actually, there is lots of schematic diagrams on the internet or in various ham radio magazines off-line. These links were the sources of inspiration for my version of the RF probe:
1. The UK ham radio site
ifwtech.co.uk/g3sek/clamp-on/clamp-on.htm ; Clamp-on RF current Meter, by G0SNO
2. The Ukrainian ham radio site https://www.diagram.com.ua/list/antenns/antenns29.shtml ; Portable Antenna Current Indicator , by UA3WIA, RA3WNK (in Russian language).
