🍂 🎃 Let’s make the CUTEST pumpkin sleeve sweatshirt for fall!
This project literally popped into my head one morning, so we’re figuring it out together! In this beginner-friendly sewing tutorial, I’m taking a simple oversized sweatshirt and transforming the sleeves with adorable fabric pumpkins, fusible adhesive, and rustic hand embroidery.
This is also a fantastic SCRAP BUSTER! You only need small pieces of fabric for each pumpkin, so dig into that scrap bin, grab your favorite fall colors, and make it completely your own.
And here’s the best part: you technically don’t even need a sewing machine for this project! You can hand stitch the pumpkins directly onto your sweatshirt. I chose to open the sleeve seams to make the hand embroidery easier and then closed them back up with my serger, but I’ll also show you other options if you don’t have one.
This would be SO cute with orange pumpkins like mine, but imagine patchwork pumpkins, pink pumpkins, neutrals, plaids, florals, or even just ONE little pumpkin near each cuff!
