This video I make a mini Parallel Clamp from Mild Steel. The first part of the video I show the setting up of the two jaws for the clamp. I actually got the set up wrong for the correct action of the clamp so I explained this in the video and went about making a new set of jaws.
The Design - You can make these in what ever size you like, even out of wood of course. The clamp has two screws that need to be worked together to achieve the right clamping action. The Centre Clamp is adjusted to what ever dimension you need, trying to keep the jaws parallel. The outer screw is then adjusted to just get a firm contact on the opposite jaw. Then tighten both screws together to get a super firm grip on the clamped piece. The Outer screw sits in a counterbore.
Allow about 4 hours to make a set of these clamps but many of you could make these much quicker I'm sure.
