My ELS GO 8BT speaker finally stopped working. After checking all the usual suspects — power rails, caps, connections — I decided it wasn’t worth chasing ghosts. Instead, I gutted it and rebuilt it from scratch.

I kept the original speakers but replaced everything else. I used a Woopker AK35 amp board, split it in half to mount inside a custom-built wooden enclosure, and added a 2-way crossover for better sound. It has multiple inputs — not just Bluetooth — so I can use it for live performances, including my stand-up comedy act.

The box is finished in a dark faux wood grain and topped with a carry handle. It’s solid, sounds great, and it’s now my go-to portable PA for gigs.
