Wood Needs ▽
All 3/4" thick boards
(1) 11.25" board cut at 52" long (back board)
(2) 2.5" board cut at 52" (front and top board)
(2) 11.25" boards cut at 27.5" long (side boards)
(4) 2.5" boards cut at 38 5/8" (If someone cuts for you, have them do 40 inches and make the cut yourself. you want to insure accuracy because these are the angle pieces and there isn't much give to make them line up correctly!)
(1) Pack of 1/4” wide by 1” long wood dowels (ours we’re located in the same aisle as the premium pine at our Lowe’s)
Angle Cuts : Inside angles should be 22.5" on one end and 67.5" on the opposite end.
*Feel free to add a few 52” long free floating boards underneath the mattress. Preferably 1/2” thick, 4” wide boards. 4-5 of them! This will allow for air flow to prevent mold. It doesn’t have to be the same wood, you could use cheap plywood and cut it down to size if you’d like. Your other option is lifting your mattress ever week for a few hours or flipping the mattress weekly if it’s reversible.
About Floor Beds : This woman doesn’t follow typical Montessori with putting kids straight into floor beds, but she is great at explaining the benefits.
