Hey guys! Today I am going to show you a new way to tie the double half hitch knot. Instead of tying it around another piece of rope I will tie is around a dowel. What it neat about this method is that your rope will go up and over your dowel and then back down. A fun way to incorporate something a little different into your work.

For this tutorial I am using a piece of rope that is approx. 3 feet long. Bring your rope underneath your dowel. Tie a double half hitch knot around your dowel.

Bring the top cord behind your dowel and tie another double half hitch knot.

I will tie one more double half hitch knot to bring my cord above the dowel again but feel free to tie a few of these loops.

Feel free to make your loops the same sizes, different sizes, use only one cord or several cords.
