Hi friends, today I am sharing how you can make a Macrame Awareness Ribbon. The month of October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month, so I chose to create my ribbon in the color pink. You can use any color you would like depending on the cause you wish to represent.
💛 My Guide to Macrame: graywonders.retrieve.com/store
🧵 ROPE USED:
- 5mm Braided Cotton Cord from the brand Ganxxet
- The other example I share is another 5mm Braided Cotton Cord from the brand Bobbiny.
Note 1: Any type of cord can be used for this project, but I do believe braided or a 3PLY may be more sturdy than using single twist. Please be aware that you may need to cut more or less rope depending on size, type, and brand. When in doubt, always cut a little extra cord when making this project for the first time.
Note 2: You can easily make this ribbon larger. Simply cut your cords longer, measure more than 10 inches from the mid-point, and tie a couple extra square knots at the top before forming that loop in the back.
Note 3: It is a good idea to use fabric glue on the back to give this project extra security, especially if you plan to use this as a keychain. Hot glue can also work.
Note 4: I am using a small cork board and t-pins to make this project easier. You can also use tape on a table to secure the project down, or even free hand it if you wish.
