I'm building a hybrid battery. Something I can use for both solar energy storage, and for jump starting a car or engine. Typically these are two different things and a deep cycle battery doesn't do well at short bursts of high current needed for turning over an engine. Likewise, a typical starting battery doesn't do well in deep cycles. Let's build something that can do both.
I'm using LEV60 cells. LEV60 cells are Lithium Iron Phosphate, LiFePO4. Each cell is a nominal 3.2V, which makes the pack 12.8V nominal. I combined it with a 300 Amp BMS (battery management system). All this comes together in a nice "Group 24" battery box.
