I thought I'd do a series of Shorts on game changing tools - and this week I'm featuring my old Ryobi circular saw. Look out for my Game Changing tool vids every Wednesday.
I still use this Ryobi - which by the way is the R18CS-0 (brushed) all the time, but if you're looking for a saw and battery at a great price, I'd seriously recommend the Erbauer. Circular saws are renowned for not being very good at dust extraction which is why I mentioned the plunge saw in the vid, but this Ryobi has actually got a pretty decent dust extraction system considering all the limitations of dust extraction you get from such an open system.
Why do I love circular saws so much? Well, they're just so light and versatile. Yes, track saws are superior for ripping down whole sheets of timber but they're heavier and more cumbersome to fling around the work bench.
