This is a run through of how I make my farmhouse shiplap family name signs. All of the pieces I am cutting out of a 5mm plywood with my Co2 Laser. I have done this same process using a CNC router with 1/4" MDF. All the pieces are spray painted with 2X flat black from Home Depot. The backers are made from 1"x4"X8' MDF trim board that I am cutting down to 24". Then framing with 1"x2"s that I have cut from 2x4s that have been stained with a Minwax espresso stain.
