Sew along and get thready with me as I go from inspiration and basic design idea, to constructing a wearable piece of clothing for myself. Now, this video is nothing compared to the process that’ll go on in a fashion house or haute couture OBVIOUSLY – buuuut it’s a simplified version of the kind of steps that any fashion design undergoes. And I wanted to show you how I bring my ideas to life, when I decide that I want to create my own piece of clothing, fitted just for my body, from scratch.

~ TIPS AND UPDATES ~
Some tips/updates/corrections for this video!
1. I did a silly thing and added seam allowance to the centre fold of the pattern, when there shouldn't have been any. (Luckily, it still worked out for me). Don't add seam allowance to the straight edge that goes along the fold of the pattern on the bodice! It might make your pattern too wide at the neck.
2. Sewing the ruffles onto the sleeves BEFORE you sew the side seams on is actually a bit easier, if you wanna give it a try! Here's a photo of how it should look: patreon.com/posts/quick-tip-to-go-18474658
3. You can add pockets by doing this! patreon.com/posts/quick-tip-2-to-18493773
4. Gathering is apparently easier if you pull the BOBBIN thread as opposed to the top thread. Also, you can add two rows of stitching before gathering to make it even more gather-y :P
5. I didn't technically make "bias tape" because it wasn't cut on the bias :P I just made binding. Haha. Also, apparently, you can make bias binding out of a small amount of fabric/a square of fabric! So that's something you can look up :D The bias binding tutorials above will also help as well.
