DIY Bunk Room progress!
#ad We’ve been hard at work transforming this space for @MinwaxUSA’s Extreme Makeover Challenge
Custom bunk beds were our solution to sleep four guests in this small, narrow room. I kept the design simple, incorporating charging cubbies and curved details repeated throughout the house.
Ceiling beams were a must—we’ve installed these pine box beams in every room, stained with two coats of Minwax Oil-based stain in Special Walnut. They added instant character and coziness to the space!
The ladder was built from red oak, stained using Minwax Oil-based stain in Espresso and sealed with matte Polycrylic.
I’m loving the contrast of the dark stained wood, and the richness & warmth it brings to the space. It fits right in with the relaxed Mediterranean style of the home, and I can’t wait to add decor and accessories!
