A few years ago we dug a pond in the back yard and put some goldfish in it. The filter system was designed as a "natural" swamp or bog, with water bubbling up through filter media and plants.
Over time the plumbing developed some leaks and we started losing water through various spots. Originally all the pipes were underground and equipped with heat tape for the winter. Unfortunately this seems to have failed, so we've had to switch over to mostly above-ground piping.
In this video I'm digging out the swamp pond, replacing the dirt media with gravel, and re-doing some of the pipes. It's more documentation than how-to, although if anyone's curious about our design I did throw in some diagrams and build photos.
We'll have some more pond videos coming up, including an automatic refill system, so stay tuned for those!
