“Is it possible to hammer hard on a woodworking workbench without worrying?”
I installed an anvil on my workbench
so I can use full-force hammering even during woodworking tasks.

06:02 Let’s Start Hammering!

Most workbench tops are made of wood,
so if you strike them hard with a hammer, the surface can easily get damaged.
Even small things like brad nail pieces can leave scratches.
Because of this, whenever I needed to hammer something mid-project,
I could only manage light taps with a small hammer.

The same problem came up when working with metal—
instead of hammering freely to bend or flatten pieces,
I had to find ways to avoid damaging the table.

This DIY project is short and simple,
but it’s something I’ve wanted to do for a long time.
I happened to have a very heavy piece weighing around 30kg,
so I used it for this build.
Given its weight, it’s unlikely to shift or move out of place during use.
Aside from machining the surface of the anvil,
the most challenging part was carving out a clean, precise cavity
into one corner of an already completed workbench.

Let’s take a look at the process together.
