I still remember the first time I heard “Badia” by Weather Report.
A distant chant of prayer echoing from far away — mysterious and deeply evocative.
The album Tale Spinnin’ was released in 1975. I was 15 at the time, and it opened my ears to sounds from other cultures… a completely new musical world.
This piece is deeply inspired by that atmosphere —
an imaginary chant from an unknown land.
In many ways, this moment became one of the foundations of my musical identity.
