So here's Vaan. He's one of my favorite newcomers to play as. Even at the beginning of the game, he's good. HP attacks still need help from assists, but eh. Much more fun than Lightning, in my eyes.

This battle is much like the battle Onion Knight did in the 13th War against Terra.
