A very special zoological park, Disney's certified wildlife conservation park from 1974 until 1999.
Get up close with nature at this delightful island zoo, originally envisioned by Walt Disney himself as a refuge for animals. You can see about 130 species of wildlife, with many animals running free. Some of nature's most spectacular flora and fauna are found on Discovery Island, an 11-acre haven on Bay Lake for more than 500 rare or endangered species from around the world.
