I adore working for the Walt Disney Company. My opinions are nothing but positive. The company have dealt with this unprecedented situation as best they could in such uncertain times. Of course I was disappointed to have to leave my program but Disney done what the believed was generally best for their cast members and sent us to safety with family when they realised the severity and how the parks would be closed for longer than originally foreseen. Hopefully I will get a chance to return to finish or redo this program at a future date because there was so much I was ready to do and share with you. To all Cast Members, wherever you are in the world, stay safe and hopefully we shall return to making magic soon! :)
Welcome to Deb Explores! I was working on a Disney Cultural Representative Program - a year long program for Internationals to share our culture while working in Epcot - however due to Covid-19 we were sent home mid April with our programs suspended. I have been very lucky to spend 6 months out in Orlando but it was also disappointing to have that end so abruptly when I'd just gone into service and I was about to have so much more time to go on so many more adventures!
This vlog is my recollection of how I found out about Disney World's closure and what happened in the time before flying back to the U.K.
Disney dealt with the situation as best they could given the sudden turnaround of events in Orlando. Though it was difficult with friends and family messaging me without letting me process everything first, releasing information to the world at the same time was their best way of stopping any leaks of decisions made. I hope everyone is safe and look forward to seeing friends, Disney family and guests again soon! :)
