Disney just announced they're redoing Walt Disney's Carousel of Progress at Magic Kingdom, and honestly, I have some FEELINGS about this. This clip is from our recent livestream where we got into a pretty heated discussion about whether this classic attraction should even be touched.
Look, I get it. The show is dated and some of the technology references are basically ancient history at this point. But this is one of Walt Disney's personal favorite attractions. It's a piece of Disney history that's been mostly untouched since it opened at Magic Kingdom in 1975.
My biggest concern? Is today's Imagineering really up to the challenge of updating something this important without completely destroying what makes it special? We've seen some questionable creative decisions lately, and the thought of them messing with Walt's vision of progress and the American family honestly keeps me up at night.
