Join me and my friend Gary C as we enjoy everything Disney Cruise Line has to offer before sailing to Dawes Glacier. From the Disney Princesses Royal Gathering, Concierge experiences and The Golden Mickeys to breathtaking Alaskan scenery, character meet and greets, glacier viewing and formal night, this is one of the most spectacular parts of our Disney Wonder Alaska cruise.

This Disney Cruise Line vlog begins with our first sea day aboard the Disney Wonder. After breakfast at Cabanas, we explore the upper decks, family pools, adults-only Quiet Cove and the Concierge Sundeck before attending the Royal Gathering, where Concierge has arranged our reservation to meet several Disney Princesses. We also browse the onboard shops, relax in the Concierge Lounge and share some of the benefits that come with sailing Concierge.
Later, we take part in Disney Cruise Line trivia, enjoy beignets and coffee from the French Quarter Lounge, spend some time relaxing in our stateroom with room service and even try our hand at a little pixie dusting around the ship before getting ready for formal night.
The evening includes portrait photos in the atrium, The Golden Mickeys in the Walt Disney Theatre, dinner at Animator's Palate and a visit to the adults-only entertainment district for Majority Rules and Match Your Mate. It’s a packed day at sea and a brilliant way to experience everything the Disney Wonder has to offer before reaching Alaska.
The following morning we wake to incredible scenery as the Disney Wonder sails through Endicott Arm towards the Dawes Glacier. After breakfast in the Concierge Lounge, Gary spends the morning meeting Disney characters while I experience the Senses Spa's private spa villa treatment before we reunite for an exclusive Concierge character meet with Mickey Mouse and Minnie Mouse in their Alaska outfits.
As we continue towards Dawes Glacier, we take in spectacular views of snow-capped mountains, waterfalls, forests and floating ice around the ship. I also share some tips for glacier viewing, explain what to expect from this scenic cruising day and show why an Alaska itinerary is unlike any other Disney Cruise Line sailing.
The afternoon is spent watching the Disney Wonder carefully navigate towards Dawes Glacier before turning around for every guest to enjoy the view. We also enjoy another character meet with Mickey Mouse, take in the scenery from across the ship and share why glacier day is one of the highlights of an Alaska cruise.
Back on board, we have dinner at Animator's Palate, where I try a pre-ordered curry from Disney Cruise Line's special request menu before Gary and I finish the evening with a game of chess in the Crown & Fin Pub as we look ahead to our first Alaskan port of call.
