It’s Alaksa cruise embarkation day aboard the Disney Wonder! Join my friend Gary C and I as we board this Disney cruise ship in Vancouver, Canada, and begin our cruise to Alaska in May 2026. This Disney Cruise Line vlog begins at the Fairmont Waterfront Hotel in Vancouver, one of the most convenient hotels for cruise passengers sailing from Canada Place Cruise Terminal. After checking out, Gary and I walk across to the port and get our first look at the Disney Wonder ship before beginning the embarkation process.
At Canada Place, I share what embarkation day looks like for Concierge guests, including luggage drop-off, security, customs and boarding procedures before we step aboard the Disney Wonder and begin exploring our home for the next seven nights.
One of the highlights of this vlog is a full tour of our Concierge Family Oceanview Stateroom with Verandah. Located on Deck 8, this spacious stateroom features Disney Cruise Line’s split bathroom design, Concierge amenities, a private verandah, generous storage space and sleeping arrangements for families. I also show the Pearl, Platinum, Gold and Silver Castaway Club gifts, room layout and some of the benefits that come with sailing Concierge on Disney Cruise Line.
After lunch, we begin exploring the ship, including the kids club and youth activities: Oceaneer Club, Oceaneer Lab, Edge, Vibe. We also share Cove Café, Senses Spa & Salon, the Rainforest Room and Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique. Taking time to enjoy the classic charm of the smaller Disney Wonder and some of the details that make this ship so different from the newer Disney Cruise Line vessels.
Later, we visit the Concierge Lounge and Concierge Sundeck, two of the exclusive spaces available to Concierge guests. We take a look around the lounge food offerings, seating areas and outdoor deck space while enjoying the views over Vancouver Harbour before sail away.
As departure time approaches, we meet Mickey Mouse, browse the onboard shops and head up to the decks for the Sail-A-Wave show as the Disney Wonder leaves Vancouver and begins her journey towards Alaska.
In the evening, we enjoy our first rotational dining experience of the cruise at Triton’s, meet our serving team and settle into life on board. We finish the night exploring more of the ship and taking in the atmosphere of embarkation day before our first full day at sea.
This Alaska itinerary will feature glacier viewing, scenic cruising, Alaskan ports of call, Disney Cruise Line entertainment, Concierge experiences and everything that makes an Alaska cruise one of Disney Cruise Line’s most sought-after (and expensive) sailings.
