Only 7% of the state’s harvested cropland is irrigated and NRCS and its partners are utilizing PL-566 Watershed funding to convert rain-fed farmland to irrigated farmland by encouraging the adoption of water-saving irrigation systems and techniques such as drip, micro or center pivot irrigation.
