Arnella Hobler | Discussing a Classic | The Ladies' Paradise by Émile Zola @ArnellaHobler | Uploaded October 2018 | Updated October 2024, 37 minutes ago.
This week, I'm discussing my most recent read; The Ladies' Paradise by Émile Zola, first published in 1883. This book was (almost) just as interesting as it was infuriating. Let's just say I found many things to remark upon. It's a bit of a rant, I'll admit that, but I believe that we as writers have a lot to learn from reading the old classics, even if it sometimes makes us squeal with awkwardness.
Enjoy!
