Star Wars Dark Forces introduced Kyle Katarn, and is the first Star Wars First Person Shooter ever to be released, and it’s released just about 15 months after the original Doom comes out
Dark Forces was the first game you could jump in, it allowed you move your mouse up and down (this was something most games didn't have), but more importantly it created a cohesive storyline--and at a level that other games weren't even imagining yet.
