A Companion for Hikers and Armchair Explorers

Jerry Barker, Author

The Mountains-to-Sea Trail (MST) is North Carolina's flagship state hiking trail.
Part of the NC State Parks Trails system, the MST stretches 1,175 miles from the Great Smoky Mountains to Jockey's Ridge on the Outer Banks. Along the trail you will see mountain vistas, rolling Piedmont farmland, small towns with historic sites and miles of seashore. While some hike the entire MST, most hikers are out for a day of adventure, sunshine, fresh air and time with a friend.
