On December 2, 2025, the legendary Bob Koerner would have been 95 years old. Bob was a pioneer in geosynthetics, had amazing passion for geotechnical engineering, and was a pretty hilarious guy. It was a natural choice to have our first compilation dedicated to him.
Over the years, whenever I have a guest who has a connection to Drexel University or sometimes is just from the Philadelphia area, I ask if they have a favorite Bob Koerner story. And they always do. Here are 9 of those stories from throughout Director’s Cut history.
