Since I like a dark sound, I started with the "Ballad Tenor" factory patch and sample. I made some basic adjustments to the main filter, breath, and resonance settings.

Since it seemed a bit stuffy, I'm also using the EQ function to brighten up the sound a bit and get a little more definition to the sound. Basically, the EQ helps shape or voice the tone a little bit more. I'll keep refining this but it's a lot closer now.
