Revitalization Project Notes -
1. Very 'noisy' vinyl pressing used here. Noise floor unacceptable so working on acquiring a pressing that is much quieter, if it exists.
2. Excellent true stereo vinyl master cut to begin with so this one can really take off and 'soar' if the right pressing is located. We'll see.
3. The potential exists that there are two very noteworthy and prominent cutting engineers back then who were involved with re-cuts at the time for the '71 reissues and so that is very promising. One of those(the one you are listening to now), is the Al Brown cut and it is outstanding in supreme audio fidelity. But so far, the drawback, unfortunately, is the surface noise. It is at a level that falls in the 'unacceptable' range. I am currently trying to track down a second copy of his re-cut to see if a quieter version exist.
Also, in terms of re-cuts, the other possibility, would be a Bob Ludwig recut. I am currently working to substantiate whether Ludwig actually performed a re-cut for the '71 production reissues of this album. He did perform re-cuts, however, for other early albums in Warwick's catalogue and so the logic would seem to follow that he also did a re-cut for this album as well. Stay tuned.
