Charted at #31 on Billboard Hot 100 in September 1963 and #13 on Adult Contemporary chart. Dion released this change of pace story record in between his great hits, "This Little Girl" and "Donna the Prima Donna". This piece was also recorded by Hank Williams Jr. (as Luke the Drifter) and his version charted at #37 on the Country chart in 1969.
