Smart Home Junkie | Dim Lights THE RIGHT WAY In Home Assistant - TUTORIAL @SmartHomeJunkie | Uploaded March 2022 | Updated October 2024, 8 hours ago.
This Home Assistant tutorial is all about dimming your lights using a physical switch in Home Assistant. Dimming your lights in Home Assistant using the light card on a lovelace dashboard in Home Assistant is quite straightforward but using a physical light switch can be a challenge. Especially if you want to continuously dim your lights while you keep pushing the dim button on your switch. There are blueprints for this and you can use these too, but they won't give you full control over your personal preferences. Besides that, you'd have to have knowledge about YAML to edit blueprints so that they work exactly the way you want them to work. In this video tutorial, I will explain how to set up advanced dimming in Home Assistant using the graphic user interface only. There's no YAML knowledge needed for this to work.
