In this video we build a "Dim Bulb Tester" which is a device for assisting in troubleshooting vintage electronics.
The Dim Bulb Tester uses an incandescent light bulb to put a resistive load in series with the device being tested
This way if there's a direct short in the device, the bulb will take up the current and prevent further damage to the device.
The bulb lighting up also acts as an indicator that something is wrong.
