As an interdisciplinary study of cognition in both humans and machines, cognitive science has already influenced the way we create and use software, mostly without us being aware of its origins. With the rise of artificial intelligence and increased occurence of human-computer interaction, it is destined to be an even greater factor in our day-to-day work. This talk is a soft introduction to the scope of cognitive science and its practical uses for both designers and developers.
