Request DLC Story | Part 1: Alternate Dimension
Difficulty: Balanced (Normal)
We've beaten the game and covered anything else left. Now it's time to tackle the DLC. There are three episodes, if you're asking but there's a common theme.
We begin the first episode, Alternate Dimension. This and the next two episodes take place in alternate timelines. But there's one constant: that in these timelines, the Shinjuku Inferno had occurred. It focuses on three different groups of characters. The first involves an alternate Inori and Aegiomon. Our job is to defeat a digimon responsible for creating and holding this Akashic Backdoor. We at least find out who it is: Parallelmon.
This DLC episode introduces us to Kyoko Kuremi. She's an alternate universe version of the original from Cyber Sleuth, voiced by Erica Mendez. We investigate for a bit only to cross paths with Goldramon. It's a Light Vaccine so counter with Data. After beating it, we then face Megidramon, a Virus-type. Use Vaccine to bring the pain. Then you take on MirageGaogamon. It's Data so counter with Virus.
After beating them, we meet with Inori and Aegiomon from an alternate timeline. They're here to help stop Parallelmon. But as we explore, it turns out there's more to Kyoko than we thought. That and the Shinjuku Inferno is the reason why Parallelmon grew stronger, causing alternate dimensions to emerge. We escape to encounter BlitzGreymon and CresGarurumon. They want their friends back but we're not the enemy. Turns out the bubbles we saw earlier are for Parallelmon to devour. So we keep going. They team up with us and take on a squad of Gatomon led by Nefertimon. We continue exploring and we start getting flashbacks. Bits and pieces due to Akahsic backdoors. The thing is that Kyoko's dad, Kodai is Captain Kuremi. Turns out she hates her dad. To make matters worse, during the incident in the past, he was attacked by Lalamon.
We then have a boss fight against Lalamon. It's 2-phase. Phase 1 is against Lalamon and the second is Calamaramon. But she's tougher this time. After beating it, time then shifts to when the digimon are attacking. Shota Kuroi gets word that the captain had been injured. We get more flashbacks along with some backstory from Kyoko. She hates digimon but hates her dad even more. So, we head to the same place where the Shinjuku Inferno happened. We also get more flashbacks relating to this timeline.
We end up following them and we got to take on Omnimon Zwart in it's defeat form. Zwart Defeat is a Virus-type, weak to Vaccine and Light. Afterwards it then transforms into a different form: Omnimon Alter-B. It attacks and Kodai takes the brunt of it. This surprises Kyoko along with CresGarurumon and BlitzGreymon. The two undergo a Jogress Evolution (DNA Digivolution) becoming Omnimon Alter-S. He joins us against Alter-B. Alter-B is a Virus-type. Just use all you have against it. Once we take it down, Alter-B returns to it's senses but time is running out. We need to save the people trapped in the bubbles. This means throwing hands against Parallelmon.
Parallelmon starts the fight by summoning Gaiomon & Kuzuhamon. They're a Next Order reference. Parallelmon is a Virus-type Mega so use Vaccines with Light attacks. Take him down fast because he'll buff himself up and make things a lot harder. Or you can take down his cronies. Better you defeat Parallelmon first.
Parallelmon is defeated but gets away. But the backdoor is becoming unstable so we got to get out of there. Thankfully we do and hopefully there would be hope for the people in that timeline. We get rewards and plus, we can replay this to get the same rewards again and again.
One episode down, two to go. Next up is Gaku-Ran.
