Rescue teams used heavy machinery to claw through mud as they searched for survivors of a flash flood in Nepal.

The confirmed death toll there was at 469 people this morning, ⁠with almost 1,000 more missing there and in neighbouring Tibet.

Wednesday's flood sent a wall of mud, rock and debris through Himalayan mountain river systems, devastating towns and villages.
