What happens if your Leaving Cert results are not what you hoped for?
Presenter and performer Paul Ryder, baker Alice Kelly and guidance counsellor Róisín O’Donoghue join Ireland AM to discuss the pressure surrounding results day and the different routes available to students.
Paul reflects on leaving school in fifth year after experiencing bullying and building a career outside the traditional education route, while Alice discusses getting the college course she wanted before realising it was not the right path for her.
Róisín shares advice for students disappointed with their results and highlights alternative options including PLC courses, access programmes and apprenticeships.
The message for students? One set of results does not have to determine the rest of your life.
