Was Christopher Nolan's The Odyssey ruined by terrible cinema sound quality?

I loved the film, but the bass in the cinema was so overwhelming it actually distorted the experience — shaking walls, drowning out dialogue, and pulling me completely out of the story. If you've recently watched The Odyssey, I need to know if your theatre had the same artificial, booming audio issues.
