In Walt Disney's original Jungle Book the characters are sometimes drawn with thumbs and sometimes without them. In this animation analysis we have a quick look at why and when this happens and how animators can use this in their own character animation.

This is a wonderful example of how character design for animation doesn't have to be a static thing - especially in 2D you can change it to adapt to certain situations.
