How did the second Death Star get built without more kalkite? We know they needed the mineral to coat the reactor lenses of the first Death Star, and so they destroyed the planet Ghorman to obtain it. But with Ghorman gone and the first Death Star lost in the Battle of Yavin, how did the Empire built a *second* superweapon? I assume they took all the kalkite they could from Ghorman, but that doesn’t mean they needed *all* of it for the first Death Star. They likely used what they needed and held the rest in reserve, so when it came time to build the second one, they had plenty left over. Or if they *did* use all the kalkite from Ghorman, we can assume they found more on another planet, or finally figured out how to utilize synthetic kalkite, kalkite alternatives, or kalkite substitutes. #starwars #deathstar
