Inside Impa's house in Kakariko Village there's a mysterious picture of a fish fossil on the wall that might seem out of place: its presence is due to the fact that, in early beta versions, the prerendered background for Impa's house was probably used for the Lakeside Laboratory in Lake Hylia.
Evidence for this can be found in the so-called alternate scene setups (which we analyze in the first part of the video) and in the internal game files.
The picture of the fish fossil is suspiciously similar to an image we found under the entry for "fish" in Microsoft Encarta 97.
Considering that during the development of Ocarina of Time the Internet offered very limited resources, is it possible that Nintendo used Microsoft's Encyclopedia in search of graphic assets?
