Today, we are visiting Shannon Rose Hill Cemetery in Fort Worth, Texas, to find the final resting place of one of the most infamous figures in American history: Lee Harvey Oswald.
Oswald’s burial in November 1963 was a chaotic and lonely event. Because there was no one else to do it, the reporters who showed up to cover the funeral had to step in and act as his pallbearers.
If you visit the grave today, you'll notice how stark it is. The original headstone, which included his full name and dates of birth and death, was stolen as a morbid souvenir. Today, the grave is marked by a simple, flat stone that simply reads: OSWALD.
