The miracle is not that the copies of the Bible are 100% accurate, the miracle is that divine revelation happened, and in the case of Isaiah - prophecy about Jesus from Isaiah is shown to come from a time before Jesus was born. That’s a miracle which unfortunately gets overlooked. Though the conversation around text criticism is a good one it can unfortunately miss the point of Biblical prophecy. To quote Rick Strassman (another Joe Rogan guest who appeared just before Wes huff) Biblical prophecy is “much more highly articulated, enduring, and pervasive as evidenced by the Hebrew Bible’s influence throughout the world over the last 2500 years.” Rick also points out that the prophets are the best historians as they receive information directly from God. In this way, divine revelation is a miracle in itself and the only way for fallen and finite humanity to receive an undistorted view of reality.
If Alex were to pursue the conversation in good faith I trust that he would eventually make his way into deeper waters
