Say hello to full motion video! Not only do the cutscenes in this game use full motion video, but the actual gameplay also uses full motion video. Although it kinda looks cool at first, it gets old fast when you realise that the gameplay becomes slow and interaction feels quite limited. That being said, the pre-rendered 3D backgrounds were quite impressive.
In each episode of Diana Games Through Time we will play one PC game from each year in chronological order starting from 1978. We will watch as black and white text on a screen turns into millions of colours in a 3d expansive living and breathing universe. Look forward to a new episode every friday in this 42 episode series!
